What Is Sublimation Printing?
Sublimation printing is a digital heat-transfer process that permanently fuses dye into polyester fabric fibres — producing full-colour prints that cannot crack, peel, or fade, regardless of how many times the garment is washed.
At temperatures between 180–210°C, specially formulated dye converts from solid to gas and bonds at the molecular level directly into the polyester fibre. Unlike screen printing (which deposits ink on top of the fabric) or heat-transfer vinyl (which bonds a film layer to the surface), sublimation printing becomes structurally part of the fabric itself.
The result is razor-sharp, photographic-quality imagery — including complex gradients, all-over patterns, and multi-colour brand artwork — that survives hundreds of wash cycles without losing vibrancy or definition. This is why sublimation is the gold standard for professional sports kits, corporate uniforms, and premium branded merchandise.

Sublimation printing requires a minimum 65% polyester content for the dye to bond correctly and produce vibrant, accurate colour. 100% polyester delivers the most faithful results. We do not recommend sublimation on 100% cotton or low-polyester blends — the print will appear faded and degrade rapidly with repeated washing. Our team verifies your garment specification before production begins.
Yes. 4na Printing offers Pantone-referenced colour calibration on all brand-critical orders. Provide your Pantone colour code or brand hex value at the briefing stage, and we calibrate our printing equipment and produce a colour proof for your approval before any full production run begins. We do not guess at brand colours or accept "close enough" approximations.
Minimum order quantities vary by product type and garment specification. Contact us with your garment type, design brief, and required quantity, and our team will confirm the most economical structure for your order — and advise whether sublimation or an alternative print method is the better fit for your volume and budget.
Production turnaround is confirmed at the time of order, based on your order volume and current scheduling. Rush turnarounds are available for qualifying orders at an additional production charge. We provide a confirmed delivery date at order confirmation — and we hold to it. Clients placing time-critical orders are advised to discuss timelines with our team before submitting artwork.
We accept Adobe Illustrator (.AI), high-resolution PDF (.PDF), and PNG files at 150 DPI or higher at the final print size. RGB colour mode is preferred for sublimation artwork. Our design team reviews every submitted file and contacts you immediately if technical corrections are needed before proofing — so no production delays occur due to file issues.

Your design can cover the entire garment surface — including sleeves, collar, side panels, and back — with no blank zones or placement restrictions. This is the standard for sublimation sportswear and high-visibility brand apparel. Standard placement printing (chest, back) is also available at your preference.
Every order is individually inspected against the approved proof before dispatch. If a production defect passes our QC process and reaches you, we will correct or replace the affected units under our quality guarantee terms.
